I remember Phil quite well. Short and stocky with glasses. (Was he in my homeroom?) I always thought of him as a mensch. He was interesting to talk to. And he died way early. I was reading the 1985 class reunion book on the NYC Lexington subway line on the way to our restoration job at  NYPL when I read that he was gone. I was just shocked and thought about him the rest of the day and for months....If there is another side and I meet him again one day I'll bet Phil has some interesting stories. So Phil if by chance you are able to read this start taking notes as I want to hear it all. And I know it will not be boring. And know you are missed.

Phil Greenblat was a great guy. We became more friendly after graduation. Phil got married the same day of  my first marriage - September 15, 1968. Tragically, Phil & his wife were traveling back to. Cleveland from Colombus  and were involved in a horrible traffic accident- I believe it was on December 30 or 31 of that same year.  A three month marriage and two 21 year old lives lost in an instant. So terribly sad.
