missing or deceased

My other half Natalie has trotted off to Pittsburgh for several day, leaving me to rot.  And so I had a look through the treasured old e-mail memories of Cleveland Heights High School where I noted once again that the names in the 'missing classmates' list and the 'deceased classmates' list were far more familiar to me than those of the people who post here regularly.  Eddie Meither's family ran an ice-cream shop on Taylor Road, and his father collected clocks.  Dennis Biggs lived on Yellowstone Road on the way to Monticello JHS.  Ernie Perna played accordion with Danny Kelly on guitar for school assemblies.

I am not missing. My friend Rob recently pointed out, however, that I was universally disliked at Heights, presumably due to (1) my sparkling personality  (2) a defensive attitude probably engendered by two alcoholic parents, and (3) a disability that I've recently discovered known as "face blindness,' whose sufferers cannot remember people by their faces.  It's apparently neurological in nature and, because I cannot recognize anyone much, is something of a drag on one's social and business relationships.

What happened to Danny Kelly?

Danny Kelly was happily living in Florida last I heard.  I must have seen his picture, etc., on this website.  We weren't at all close, for he was a confident, good-looking and successful kid all through elementary school and I, uh, wasn't.

Toward graduation he seemed to have become somewhat fearsome, as did a number of the seniors.  The Cleveland Heights interpretation of street gangsters must have looked pretty amusing, and I suppose they'd have grown out of it quickly enough.

There were many of us that were not peoplular or part of the in crowd. Some of us might not come to reunions because we are Sabbath observant and everything is on the Sabbat witih no accomodations for those of us who keep kosher. so while I would like to see other people and talk about high school I have gone on with my life and BH happily live here in Israel where everyone is welcome to visit.
